Witness the evolution of the revolution. First it played songs. Then photos. Then podcasts. Now iPod plays video, changing the way you experience your music and more. Again. In lighter, thinner 30GB and 60GB models new iPod is music to your eyes.
Better Yet
Time for the world’s best music player to take the stage for another encore. In 30GB and 60GB(1) models that hold up to 15,000(2) songs, full-color album art and up to 25,000 photos(3), the new iPod makes the most of your music and more. Yeah, you’ve heard that tune before. Only now, you can watch it, too. With support for up to 150 hours(4) of video and a 2.5-inch color display, the new iPod lets you take music videos and TV shows on the road.
More and Less
The new iPod boasts up to 20 hours of battery life(5), five hours more than before. Plus, you get a bigger display and one more iPod color — sleek black. But here’s the kicker: At under half an inch thin, the new 30GB iPod takes up about 45 percent less room than the original iPod. Even the new 60GB model is over 10 percent thinner than the fourth-generation 30GB iPod. More features in less space? Sounds like iPod.
Hold Everything
Now you can put all your music in your pocket and still have room for, well, practically everything else. Catch up on your reading with audiobooks. Browse your memories with photo slideshows, complete with music. Watch video podcasts, music videos and your favorite TV shows. Consult your calendar or look up an email address. Even check the time in another city or time your fastest lap. The new iPod keeps it all close at hand.
Spin Some Tunes
The Apple Click Wheel gives you access to your entire music, photo and video library — from one thumb. Control volume and browse using the touch-sensitive surface. Play. Pause. Rewind and fast-forward. Rate your favorites. Create playlists on the go. Launch photo slideshows. The Click Wheel puts everything at your fingertips, so you can keep your eyes and ears on the music.
Sync, Look and Listen
Playing your iPod is only half the fun. Try filling it with downloads from the iTunes Music Store. Choose from over 2 million songs, 25,000 podcasts, 2,000 music videos or your favorite ABC and Disney television shows, download them to your Mac or PC and sync them to your iPod. Add an optional audio cable to play music from the iPod to your home stereo or use an optional S-video cable with iPod to play VJ on your TV. You can perform the same big-screen feat with iPod photo slideshows. Oh, and you can do it all from across the room using the optional Universal Dock and handy new Apple remote.

The new iPod packs music, audiobooks, podcasts, photos, video, contacts, calendars, games, clocks and locks in a design up to 45 percent slimmer than the original iPod. How, you ask? Just by being itself. Take a tour of all the features that make the new iPod the best iPod ever.

Overview
With room for all your music and video, this iPod has both sound and vision. Of course, it also boasts stamina (up to 20 hours(1) of battery life), generous capacity (30GB or 60GB(2) of storage), a great personality (intuitive, customizable menus) and a touch of genius (the Apple Click Wheel). In other words, iPod makes an ideal companion. Why not get to know it better? Just click on a feature to see it on the new iPod display, then read about it here.
Music
Finding and playing music on iPod is simple. Use the Click Wheel to adjust volume, navigate songs or browse the Music menu by artist, composer, album, song, genre or playlist. Want to mix things up? Just click Shuffle Songs. iPod makes your music look as good as it sounds, thanks to its big, bright color display. Album art appears alongside your songs in the Now Playing screen, so you see your music as you play it. After all, iPod loves music as much as you do.
Videos
iPod adds a new dimension to your portable music experience: videos. Choose from over 2,000 music videos at the iTunes Music Store, buy them for $1.99 each, sync them to your iPod and take them anywhere. Or purchase ad-free episodes of your favorite ABC or Disney television shows and watch them on the go. The new iPod lets your browse over 150 hours(3) of video from the Click Wheel, then watch it on the gorgeous 2.5-inch, over 65,000-color display.
Podcasts
The iTunes Podcast Directory features thousands of free podcasts radio-style shows you subscribe to including favorites from such big names as ABC News, Adam Curry, ESPN, KCRW, WGBH and many more. Browse and subscribe to podcasts, then sync them to your iPod and listen anywhere. Thanks to new video support, even video podcasts sync to go. And all your podcasts appear in their own menus under Music and Videos, so you can navigate them easily.
Audiobooks
The digital shelves of the iTunes Music Store are stocked with more than 11,000 audiobooks including such exclusives as the entire Harry Potter series so you can download what you want, sync to your iPod and catch up on your reading wherever you roam. Browse audiobooks from their own menu on your iPod. Set a chapter marker when you stop reading, and pick up the audiobook right where you left off. You can even change the read speed to suit you.
Photos
iPod holds up to 25,000 photos you can sync from your Mac or Windows PC via iTunes. Use the Click Wheel to scroll through photo thumbnails the same way you scroll through song titles. To see a photo full-screen, click the center button. You can even view photo slideshows complete with music on iPod or on a TV via the optional video cable. Select Slideshow Settings, choose the transition effect and the music, then start the show.
World Clock
The new iPods nifty World Clock lets you check the time everywhere, fall asleep to music and wake up to it, too. Open more than one World Clock to scroll between as many time zones as you choose. The clock faces even appear white or black to indicate day or night in different time zones. Want to doze to your music? Turn on the Sleep Timer. Just remember to set the built-in Alarm Clock to your favorite wake-up song for a tuneful way to rise and shine.
On-the-Go Options
When inspiration strikes, feel free to rate songs or create playlists right from your iPod. To create an On-the-Go Playlist, select a song, then press and hold the center button until the song flashes. To rate a song as it plays, click the center button until you reach the ratings screen. Scroll the Click Wheel to choose a star rating and press the center button to save. Since iTunes syncs both ways, all your On-the-Go Playlists and song ratings sync back to your computer.
Settings
Customize menus, check capacity, change your language, change how your iPod sounds and more, all from the Settings menu. Click About to see how many songs are on your iPod and how much room you have left. Click Main Menu to select what items appear in your Main Menu. Tweak the built-in equalizer. Or set your maximum volume limit. Everything you need to personalize your iPod from the backlight timer to clicker sound effects appears in Settings.
